OMG!

Ubuntu refreshed its site interface with a manual dark mode toggle, a denser mobile layout, and AVIF image caching.

Code blocks now include a quick-copy button for terminal commands, alongside backend improvements and an updated Chrome extension.

The biggest addition is a manual dark mode toggle at the top of the page. While the site will still automatically adapt to your device settings, you can now choose between a light and dark background whenever you want.

Mobile and code changes

The mobile version has been redesigned. The homepage now shows recent articles in a more compact list, so you can see more news at a glance without having to scroll endlessly.

Additionally, code snippets have been given a simple copy button, so anyone who wants to copy commands can do so with a click, rather than trying to select the text by hand.

Faster loading and new features

Other changes include minor improvements to loading speed thanks to better memory management and the use of newer image formats, a new font, and an update to the Chrome browser extension to support dark mode depending on the system.
