My friend had a simple problem: studying was not the difficult part β figuring out what to study, when to study it, and how to stay consistent was.
So for the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge: Build for a Friend, I built StudyBuddy β an AI-powered study planning assistant designed to turn a student's goals and available time into a practical study plan.
π‘ What is StudyBuddy?
StudyBuddy helps students plan their studies without having to manually create complicated timetables.
You can tell it things like:
What you're studying
Your subjects or topics
How much time you have
Your goals
What you need to focus on
The AI then helps create a structured plan that you can actually follow.
π§ What I built
StudyBuddy has:
π€ AI-powered study planning
π Subject and topic-based planning
β±οΈ Time-aware study schedules
π A simple student-friendly interface
π A deployed backend connected to the frontend
π AI planning logic running through the backend
I wanted the experience to feel less like using a complicated productivity tool and more like having a friend who helps you figure out what to study next.

β€οΈ Built for a friend
This project started with a simple thought:
What if studying felt a little less overwhelming?
Instead of building another generic AI chatbot, I wanted to build something focused on a real student problem β turning βI need to studyβ into βhere's exactly what I can do next.β
This was also a great opportunity for me to experiment with connecting an AI planner to a real deployed application.
Thanks to the Hacktoberfest Weekend Challenge for the motivation to build something useful for someone around me!
